The show was absolutely fantastic. They played a nice mix of songs. A lot of people that have heard Thrice's older material started ridiculing them when they began to explore different musical styles, because they weren't "metal" or "punk" enough anymore. Honestly what Thrice has proven to me, is that they are truly able to create music that is their own, and regardless of genre it is probably the most passionate, powerful and real music any band is putting out today. I used to be a little disappointed when I knew they were never going to go back to the 'Identity Crisis' sound but even with 'Beggars' they dont lose that raw energy and driving element in their music, especially live. Hearing "At The Last" was face melting, listening to someone scream words that are so brutally convicting both to myself and quite obviously the writer, is just one of the most real experiences we have left in a world so fake. If Thrice doesn't go down as one of the best bands in music for our generation, I will be thoroughly heartbroken.
To be able to try to capture some of that was a blessing in itself. I dont know if I succeeded but here are some of my favorite shots.
